 About Tony Fortunato and his Band

In the late 80’s after playing in local & regional bands, Tony decided to develop his own sound.  He pooled together talented area musicians to form his back up band, The Emperors of Swing TM.  By combining the best songs and music styles he performed over the years, he was able to create a new wall of sound influenced by the energizing power of the great vegas era.  It took great commitment and an investment of time, money and energy to custom arrange each song to reflect the unique and powerful sound Tony was striving for.  He has now built one of the largest libraries of music available.

 

 

 

Credits
The band provides live entertainment for a variety of specialty festivals, summer concerts, wedding receptions, fundraisers, dances, political events, black tie events, corporate events, colleges-universities and other schools, private functions and more. 
Tony has performed at several Lakeland Jazz Festivals and recorded with many local, regional and professional touring bands including:  Martha Reeves, The Dells, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and Travis Haddix to name a few. 
They have worked with  “Big Bad Voodoo Daddy” and “David Benoit” at Blossom Music Center in addition to live TV performances on The Morning Show on FOX 8 TV. 
They performed special events for the Cleveland Browns and The Cleveland Indians. Recorded TV show "Touched By Love".
Represented Cleveland performing with the headlining act at the 2010 Cognac Blues Festival in France.

About Tony Fortunato
Tony Fortunato is a national and international recording and performing artist.  In addition to fronting his own band, Tony has performed with and done studio work for local and national bands.  He has also recorded and co-written horn section arrangements for other bands.
 
Tony starting off as a woodwind player, performing Classical and Jazz works on clarinet.  He performed classical concerts and played semi-pro theatre musicals. Jumping into the Saxophone, Guitar, Drums, Bass and Vocals in the late 70's opened up new doors and expanded his field of performance from standard rock bands, to showcase and tribute bands, on regional tours.
Focusing on his musical strengths, Baritone & Tenor Sax and Vocals, Tony now leads an 10 piece professional band where he entertains crowds with his Vegas inspired style variety music.

What makes Tony Fortunato a good sax player?
Tony is not a selfish player. He plays for the sound. He can drive a section, push the music but will never bury a lead vocal or melody. Knowing when to play is as important as knowing when not to play. Tony prides himself on his ability to instantly add more bounce to the bottom, or infuse cool tones behind the lead.
