Johanna Pockar's creativity was expressed in a range of successful design-related ventures before she centered on interior design two decades ago.  Johanna has a particular gift for color and admits to savoring her delight when she envisions a scheme pleasing in ways simple and subtle.  She is an IRIS-trained redesigner.  Feng Shui is another important tool of Johanna's practice.  Formed by a Feng Shui master, Professor Lin Yun, Johanna knows the design of a home has a powerful effect on a resident's energy and sense of harmony.  She is drawn to balance: of color, space, material, texture and energy and knows a satisfying variety of balance is the harmonious interaction between client's wishes and a designer's selfless guidance.

She says,  "Ours is a collaborative venture and so much depends on obtaining an inventory of needs and preferences and finding how a client moves through a space.  Paying attention - to the clients, the space, the way the home is connected to nature - is central to my service.  What's more, green has become not only a vital color, but also a critical element.  I work hard to bring all of the above into the mix, and I pledge to offer passion for quality, enthusiasm for the process and a commitment to insuring the job is done efficiently and economically."

Johanna recently completed the renovation and design of a six-story town house in Manhanttan's Soho and has been working in South Florida, Chicago and Phoenix.  She has also had a wealth of commisions, large and small, quick and extended, throughout her base in Northeast Ohio, as well as assignments to Feng Shui factories, schools, health facilities, stores and residences.  She has wide experience teaching workshops in color and in Feng Shui.  Johanna is grateful for clients whose resources allow aesthetic freedom and also thankful for opportunities to overcome budgetary constraints with imagination.

Johanna enjoys bicycling with her husband, Jerry; taking long walks with her daughter-dog Diva:

and hanging out with her human daughter Yanira.  She draws mandalas, sews, redesigns sweatshirts and loves playing with beads and creating jewelry.
