1. How do I create a blog?

    • From the Blogs menu on your home page, click on Add Blogging To My Account
    • In the box next to iBizard Subdomain Name, type in the name would like to call your blog page. Example: WordsFromBeth, DoggyTails, TalkShowTalk.
    • Click on Check Name Availability to ensure the name is available. If it is not, you will be given alternate choices or you can type in another name
    • Once you have received a message confirming the availability of the domain name, click on Creae Files at the bottom of the page
    • This will bring up a list of available templates for your blog page background
    • After choosing your background, highlight the Use This Template box and click the Next button
    • You will get a message stating that Your subscription has been successfully created
    • Click on the link Modify your blog settings. Check or uncheck the features you would like available on your site. These can be modified at any time.
    • Once you have selected the setting for your blog, click the Save button. You will receive a message that your blog settings were successfull saved
 

2. How do I add an entry to my blog?

    • Once you have added the blogging feature to your account you can begin blogging
    • From your Home Page, find the Blogs Menu
    • Click on Add New Entry
    • A text box with editing tools at the top will appear
    • In the box next to Entry Title, type in a name or date for the post. This is for internal use and will only be seen by you
    • In the box next to Name, enter your name. This will appear on your blog
    • Begin typing your blog entry. You may want to type in a title first, skip a space and then begin your entry. Use the edit buttons to change your font size, type and color
    • You may add images to your blog by clicking on the Insert Image icon at the top of your screen. Please see the How do I add images to my blog? section for further instruction
    • When you are finished with your blog entry, click on the Post This Entry button at the bottom of the screen

3. How do I add images to my blog?

    • Left-click your mouse so that your curser is flashing in the body of your blog where you want your picture to go
    • Click on the Insert Image icon at the top of your screen. An Insert Image window will appear
    • Browse your images and click on the image you would like to use or upload a new picture into your gallery. Images that you have previously loaded into your gallery will show up by name in a window to the left
    • The image you choose will show up in the image window box in actual size
    • You can change the size of your picture by increasing or decreasing the numbers in the Width and Height boxes on your left. We recommend images be no more than 300-400px wide
    • You can also add a border color to your picture by clicking on the small square box next to Border Color
    • Once you have picked your border color, enter a number of 1 or higher in the box titled Border Size to determine the thickness of your border
    • Enter a few words to describe your picture in the Long Description box
    • Once you are satisfied with your picture, click the Insert button at the botton of the window
    • You should now see your picture in the body of your email
    • Click one of the Justify icons at the top of your screen to set your picture to the Left, Center, or Right on the page.
    • By left-clicking with your mouse, you can click-and-drag your picture up or down. Depending on where you move it, your text will automatically wrap around your picture
    • If you want to remove your picture, right click on the picture, and then highlight and click on the word Delete

4. Can I add a widget or video to my blog?

    • Yes you can easily add a widget or video to your blog
    • You will need to copy the 'embed' code for the widget or video. You you will usually see a link that says 'embed' or 'snag code'. Just highlight that code and click Copy from your computer's Edit drop-down box
    • When you are finished typing your blog entry, click on the HTML box at the bottom of your blog entry page
    • Your curser should be flashing after your final text entry
    • From the Edit drop-down box on your computer, click Paste. The code should now be inserted in your blog
    • Click back to the Normal box to view your blog with the added widget or video
    • When you are finished with your blog entry, click on the Post This Entry button at the bottom of the screen

5. Can I change my blog template?

    • Yes. From the Blogs menu on your home page, click on Change Blog Template
    • Scroll the list of available blog skins
    • Once you choose, click the Next button
    • You will receive a confirmation message that your blog template has been successfully updated

6. Can I add banners or ads to my blog?

    • Yes. From the Blogs menu on your home page, click on Customize Blog Page
    • You will see a table displaying a top banner section, left navigation column, and right navigation column
    • The sections will only show up on your blog if you add data to them
    • Click the link you would like to add data to.
    • Enter and add text, images, clickable links, widgets, and ads here
    • This is a great place to ad clickable links to your Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and other social networking sites

7. I already have a website. Can I link my blog on iBizard to my website?

    • Absolutely. All you have to do is create a link on your current website to the blog url provided to you by our system. Your blog url will look something like this: http://www.ibizard.com/sites//blog.php.
    • Additionally, just as you can choose one of our templates for your blog design, we can also reate the blog page to match your current web design and layout
    • Your custom blog page can then be linked to your current website using the ibizard blog url provided to you.

8. I have a domain name but not a website. Can I use my domain name for my blog?

    • Yes, you can. This feature is called website forwarding and is available thru iBizard
    • When a visitor enters your domain name into their web browser, it will automatically redirect the visitor to your iBizard blog page
    • Only your domain name will be visible
    • You will still need to create a blog name on iBizard
    • Contact us at support@ibizard to initiate the forwarding of your domain name to your blog's home page

9. How can I connect my Blog RSS Feed to other sites and Facebook?

    • Everytime you make a new entry to your blog, an automated RSS feed is generated in your iBizard account. The URL to this feed is 'http://www.ibizard.com/sites/YOUR_SUBDOMAIN_NAME/blogfeed.xml'
    • This is an XML formatted RSS feed which you can link to from other sites, and your visitors can use to be kept appraised of all new entries to your blog
    • Copy the URL or the HTML code found in the 'What are my BLOG URLs' section under the Blogs Menu, and your visitors will be able to subscribe to your RSS feed and will be kept appraised of all new additions to your blog
    • You can also automatically include this RSS Feed link on top of your iBizard blog page. Simply choose the 'Show RSS Feed, Facebook, Twitter & Myspace' option in your 'Blog Settings' under the Blogs Menu and your RSS Feed will appear automatically on top of your blog pages.
    • Facebook: Automatic integration of your iBizard blog pages
      • Facebook allows you to automatically import your Blog pages into your Facebook notes. You will need to use the Blog RSS feed URL to do this. Facebook imports your existing blog entries and will automatically check your RSS feed every couple hours and update your Facebook notes with any new entries it finds. These new entries are in turn posted on your Facebook wall, therefore becoming visible to all of your friends and fans.
      • Facebook also allows your friends and fans to subscribe to your Notes updates, and therefore will send out a private message to your subscribers every time you add a new entry to your iBizard blog pages
      • This means that all you have to do is update your Blog on iBizard, and your Facebook notes will be automatically updated without you having to send or input anything into your Facebook notes or status
      • In order to import your Blog into Facebook: Log in, For personal profiles simply click 'Notes', for business pages, 'Edit Page' & go into 'Edit' mode for Notes. Under the Notes section you will see a link to 'import your blog'. Click this link and when prompted for your blog url, use the RSS Feed URL specified above and follow through with the instructions. Facebook will automatically import your Blog and will continue to check for updates every couple hours.
